Does polypropylene bond to Maple? Will you be able to turn it? What adhesive do you use?

All will be answered stay tuned!!
vlcsnap-00001I’ve had this polypropylene sitting around so I was wondering what I could do with it.
vlcsnap-00002I cut the plastic the same width as my scrap piece of maple.
vlcsnap-00003Split the maple block in two.
vlcsnap-00004Take a final sizing cut to clean the saw marks.
vlcsnap-00005This was the last of the epoxy, so I just let it drain into a cup.
vlcsnap-00006Spread the epoxy on the Maple put the plastic on top.
vlcsnap-00007Clamped together and cleaned of the squeeze out. What a mess!!!
vlcsnap-00008Mounted the block to the lathe after cutting the ends Square. Tips
vlcsnap-00009Roughed the piece round. You can really start to see the contrast between Maple and Plastic.
vlcsnap-00010Began to shape. (Hint it might help to have a design in mind before this step)
vlcsnap-00011Towards the end I broke off a piece of the Maple. This is what we call a design change.
vlcsnap-00013Here’s what I ended with. I don’t really like the shape, but the Epoxy and concept worked well.
